We understand that having your hearing tested can feel a bit daunting, so we make the process as comfortable and clear as possible. At Poulton Optical Centre & Hearing Care, we’ll explain each step of your assessment, so you know exactly what to expect and can feel confident in your results.
Our state-of-the-art hearing assessments are carried out in a soundproof environment for precise, reliable results. We test both your ability to hear sounds and how well you process speech, giving a complete picture of your hearing health.
Most importantly, we take the time to listen to your concerns and understand your goals. Together, we’ll create a plan to help you reconnect with the sounds and people that matter most.

Experience the clarity you deserve with the Poulton Premium Hearing Assessment—a detailed evaluation for anyone interested in understanding their hearing. Our comprehensive assessment includes pure tone audiometry, speech testing, and, if appropriate, a personalised demonstration of the latest hearing aid technology. We go beyond a standard hearing test, offering tailored solutions and peace of mind to suit your individual needs. Let us help you rediscover the full richness of sound.
Our hearing consultation with an audiologist is all about you. We take the time to understand your lifestyle, listening needs, and what you hope to improve. In a private, relaxed setting, you can discuss your daily hearing challenges, expectations from hearing aids or assistive devices, and any specific goals you have. We’ll review your relevant medical history and set clear priorities—so your hearing care is completely tailored to you, every step of the way.
The Poulton Premium Hearing Assessment includes pure tone audiometry and speech testing for a thorough evaluation of your hearing. If you’ve already paid for your assessment, that cost will be deducted from your final invoice if you proceed with treatment.

The Poulton Hearing Screen is a free 15–20 minute check of your hearing health, designed to indicate if further investigation or a full diagnostic hearing test is needed.
If you’re aged 50 or over and haven’t had your hearing tested before—or if you suspect you might have some hearing loss but aren’t sure—the Poulton Hearing Screen is an easy way to stay on top of your hearing health.
We’ll examine the outside and inside of your ears with a video otoscope, so you can view the images on a big screen alongside us.
We’ll perform a hearing scan to check for any hearing loss.
Your hearing care professional will explain your test results and advise if further investigation or a full diagnostic hearing assessment is needed.
